ABOUT US

MANAGEMENT OF THE SCHOOL

Modern Senior High School operates in partnership with its Board of Governors, Parent-Teacher Association (PTA),  Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and Philanthropists.

The Headmaster/Director is assisted by two persons designated Assistant Headmaster Academic and Assistant Headmaster Administration. Down the chart are Senior House Masters and Senior House Mistresses who are assisted by house master/mistresses. The heads of departments also form part of the administration.

The Student Representative Council (SRC) and the Prefectorial body make inputs in the running of the school.

PARENT-TEACHER ASSOCIATION

The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) is an important body in the running of the school. It plays vital roles in the administration of the school. 


The Executive Commitee chaired by Mr Emmanuel Offei meet at scheduled times to take decisions. In accordance with the Ghana Education guide lines the Association meets two times in a year. Aside this, the Executive committee has the perogative to cover emergency meeting.


Decisions arrive at meetings are binding on all parents/guardians and teachers. Parents who absent themselves from PTA meetings without prior notification are sanctioned.

FEES

Students In Modern Senior High School, like students in other Senior High Schools, shall pay fees every term. Bills to theis effect are issued at the end of the term to parents/guardians.

It is important to state that our fees are relatively low. When compared to other schools fees paid in this schools are always preferred by parents/ guardians. They are therefore affordable. Fees Once Paid, Are Not Refundable.

Modern Scholarship Account (Modern Account) is accessed after one-year study in the school. It is ability and hardship scheme, accessible by limited students at a time.

CODE OF DISCIPLINE

Modern Senior High School (MSHS)  is a co-educational institution guided by the strongest trust (credence) that good and effective character training is as important and crucial as high academic achievement and excellence.

These traits and attainments can be reached through self-discipline, development of will-power, required diligence and industry.

Our school code of discipline is therefore for the guidance of students (trainees), parents and guardians, designated teachers, and all who are associated with the school. We fervently hope that all concerned will indeed co-operate in order to maintain desirably high academic and moral standards in this model, unique institution.

Students of this school shall comport themselves responsibly at all times both at school and outside school.


PROVISION FOR MORAL AND CHARACTER TRAINING: The school's Guidance and Counseling Department, religious and devotional activities, Club Association by students together with the approved curricular activities are geared towards moral decency. The school rules and regulations complement this effort.

VISITING HOURS

Visitors are not allowed during classes hours (7:00am - 3:30pm). Emergency cases are to be channeled through the administration. 

Visits are on Saturdays (First and last Saturdays of the month) from 2:00pm to 5:00pm and the venue of visit is the school premises.

  • Students Go Out For Jogging (Three Times In A Term)
  • Washing And Cleaning Span To 11:00am
  • 12noon - 3:30pm  : Prep / Day Studies

  • 12:00noon   -    1st Prep
  • 7:00pm        -    2nd Prep
